This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Illustrations for my pop-up style still-life series. It was an awesomely fun project for my traditional photography class, as it combined my two favorite classes. I'd like to start focusing more on pen and ink illustrations and drawings.
November 6, 2012 ............................................................... Happy Election Day! Hope the candidate that best deserves the position wins!
In my own personal world, I've been working hard on building a portfolio for future employers and researching as much into the illustration industry as possible. Part of that has been sending inquiry emails to artists that I truly look up to... which, let me tell you, has been pretty wonderful.
It's always great to hear from others that have made a complete success of their career, and to get not only words of wisdom but, also, those of encouragement.
One of the most successful artists that have answered my questions, sent me a wonderful email that really the best thing I can do is to just keep working hard at my dreams and that "There is a lot of time" as he put it.
Which is something I truly need to remember.
I always get wound up, thinking...'There's just not enough time, not enough to accomplish everything I want to. But you know, in reality, - you should simply do what you can. Do it well. And enjoy it.
Currently, I’m a Junior at Pittsburg State University and I'm studying Commercial Art and Painting. I've been working toward a future in Illustration and Photography; possibly, for a magazine that would allow me to travel, such as National Geographic/Time.
Most of my work has been in watercolor or ink; it really forces me to loosen up my natural obsession with trying to control the paint. Also the flowing and transparent quality of watercolor and ink washes is incredibly interesting to experiment with. You never quite know what effect or texture you can get using other media, be it the usual plastic wrap or salt or a new texture created with a scrap of fabric or coffee grounds.
I'm still discovering the type of message I want to send with my work. As of now, most of my work in college has been done with the focus of just learning all of the fundamentals of art rather than trying to make some grand and new statement about the world we live in. I’ll easily admit my knowledge of the world is lacking still and I don't know enough to make any such assumptions yet, ha.
The only thing I'm absolutely sure about right now is that I want to spend my life travelling and gaining new experiences and knowledge. Whether that surprises me with a job in advertising, photography, freelance, or whatever... I'll be happy enough to jump right into the work. There're positives about everything, and every section of the art world will teach you something new.
